For
two decades Life of the Party Band has maintained its reputation as one of the
area's most entertaining, energetic party bands, leaving its happy audience clamoring
for more at the end of each performance. Ask anyone who has been a guest at a
Life of the Party Band event and they will tell you that they danced all night
to a great band providing great music. From Philadelphia to Poughkeepsie, from
WilkesBarre to New Haven, from the Hamptons to the deck of the USS Intrepid,
Life of the Party Band has played the finest hotels, catering halls, restaurants
and private locations. We have always gone the extra mile to satisfy our clients'
desires, augmenting our extensive playlist with any special request they may
have, and always working with the catering staff in a professional and congenial
manner.
Originally
a Brooklyn-based 7-piece band, Life of the Party Band was founded by keyboardist
Fred Sweeney, formerly of Street Magic, in 1988. Lead vocalist Mike Travis came
over from Hollywood Nytes the following year, after having previously toured
the northeast with NRG and Heaven. In 1991, drummer Steve Alliano, a veteran
of the heavy metal scene, touring with bands such as Dusty Rose and Primal Scream,
was added to the mix. Guitarist Pat Gebert, formerly with Joe Casey's orchestra,
and jazz-oriented saxophonist/flautist Robb Ross followed in 1992. These five
talented and versatile musicians have been with the band ever since, solidifying
their friendship with their ability to work together to create musical harmony.
Personally and professionally, this band is tight.
During the early 90's, the band added a trumpet to the lineup and, for a period
of time, a trombone as well. When long-time female vocalist Rosanne Drucker moved
to Nashville in 2000, the band expanded to include two female vocalists. However,
this year the band decided to return to an 8-piece line-up.
For the last several years, Karen Faistl, a talented entertainer with a background
in musical theatre, has manned the mike on the front line. Jeremy Milo, who also
plays Broadway shows, is on trumpet, and Patrick Pfeiffer, formerly with the
Honeymooners, in addition to being a renowned teacher and author of books, such
as Bass Playing for Dummies, is the band's bassist.
Thank you so much for your amazing performance at our
wedding. Mike, you were a pleasure to work with and so much fun to work with,
and you made things easy for us. We really hope to use you again in the future.—Diana and Joe (Swiderski)
Thank you, thank you, thank you for the best party we
could ever have asked for. We've never had more fun at anyone's wedding as we did at our own. It was phenomenal. Everyone has been raving about the band. We don't have our video yet but we still pop in your DVD and dance along. Thank you not only for the great music but also just for being great to work with. We will definitely recommend you to everyone we know.—Love, Roseann and Joe
We can't thank you enough for proving once again what an incredible band you have. This is the fifth wedding you've played for our family and I'm sure, based on the response we've gotten, that we'll see you again. My brother still has one more daughter to go. —Erika and John
It is said that the band makes the reception at a wedding
and we absolutely agree! On June 1, Life of the Party was an integral part in
making our wedding day magical. The band members were not only tremendously talented
and extremely professional, but friendly and courteous as well. They were energetic
and enthusiastic. That made all the difference. Life of the Party chose a selection
of music that was perfect for us as well as our guests and kept the dance floor
full at all times. To this day, we still receive compliments on how phenomenal
Life of the Party was. Watching our wedding video nearly two months later, we
remember how delighted we were not only with the selection of music, but the
performance as well. Please thank Mike and the others for these memories that
we will cherish forever.—Melanie and Jeff
We had been told that the music makes a wedding reception.
After June 8th, we certainly won't dispute that fact. Life of the Party was wonderful!!!
We are so pleased that we selected them to be such an important part of our daughter's
special day. We received so many tremendous compliments about Life of the Party.
A number of people felt that this was the best band they had ever heard. Not
only are they top musicians, they are true professionals in every sense of the
word. It is hard to capture it all, but all the members certainly deserve all
the praise they get and more. They are absolutely wonderful. The evening went
so fast. We really hated to see it come to a close. Many thanks to Life of the
Party for helping to make this the success that it was.—Tom and
Janet
We just wanted to thank you and Life of the Party for
the absolutely phenomenal job that was done at our wedding on Sept. 29th. We
apologize that we have not been able to thank you sooner. Words cannot express
how much we enjoyed our reception because of the atmosphere that Life of the
party provided with their musical ability. The band sounded incredible and we
are still receiving compliments from our guests about the music and the wonderful
time they had at our wedding. Rest assured that Life of the Party was a most
integral part of their experience. Your musicians truly helped bring our dream
wedding to life. The dance floor was packed all night and we even had to extend
our reception because no one was leaving. Life of the Party played songs that
everyone loves to hear and dance to, and every selection was played with exceptional
quality. We could not have picked a better music entertainment company. Our only
regret is that the fabulous time we had at our reception went too quickly. We
will gladly recommend your group to everyone we know because Life of the Party
was just that.—Brian and Kristen
Chris and I just wanted to write and thank you and the
rest of the band for the wonderful job you did at our wedding reception. You
got people on the dance floor and kept them there all night long, which is exactly
what we wanted. Our guests have been raving ever since about how good the music
was, and we could not be more pleased with how it all turned out! Please feel
free to list us as a reference in the future. Thank you again for all your work
in making our wedding day truly memorable.—Neelie and Chris
